About Opti-baby Academy:

The Academy is situated in Eldoraigne, Centurion and specializes in educating people to
become top qualified au pairs and caregivers, experienced childminders as well as
informed "moms-to-be". Opti-Academy also participates in the "Earn while you learn"
concept, as students are being reimbursed while doing practical training at the
Opti-Baby group.
In the course the Academy approaches the child as a total entity, emphasizing on a very important period of a child's development, from birth to the age of five years.
Opti-Baby Training Facilitators are well-known and highly experienced - their knowledge,
coupled with enthusiasm and talent, ensure that all the students receive only the very best tuition in Baby Care.

Joan Orr has been appointed Head of the Training, workshops,
quality and safety control on behalf of Opti-Baby Stimulation Centre. 

She has extensive knowledge in the childcare industry, with the following academic qualifications:

B Social Science (Nursing) University of Natal 1971
Higher Educational Diploma (Post-Graduate, Preprimary) UNISA 1976
Diploma in Advanced Nursing Science (Nursing Education & Community Health) UNISA, 1981
Honours BA (Nursing Education) UNISA, 1985 * (Degree obtained with distinction)
MA (Nursing Science) Thesis:  A nursing model for the total care of the hospitalized preschool child.  UNISA, 1992 (Degree obtained with distinction)
